About Us

This is Dominology, or the study of the game of dominoes.

Become a Dominologist, an expert at the game of dominoes.

We cannot explain the good times that lie ahead with completion of Dominology study!

We have developed a comprehensive curriculum based on college ready CA Core Common Standards K-12, with a goal to share to everybody.

Dominology is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to education, competition, and community through the timeless game of 5s dominoes. We transform dominoes into a year-round, structured sport that rewards learning, skill, and excellence, while remaining accessible to everyone.

How Dominology Works

STEP 1 — Learn the Game ($20 Curriculum)

Our Step 1 Curriculum is a one-time $20 educational program designed for anyone ready to learn Dominology from the ground up. Players gain:

-Official rules and scoring mastery
-Tournament strategy and etiquette
-Mathematical thinking, probability, and pattern recognition
-A pathway into competitive play

*This step is open to all ages and backgrounds and fulfills our nonprofit mission of inclusive education. Step 1 is encouraged, but not mandatory.

STEP 2 — Join the Club ($35 Membership)
Graduates of Step 1 may Join the Dominology Club for $35, unlocking:

-Access to year-round, annual tournaments
-Eligibility for cash prizes and sponsored rewards
-Official player ranking and statistics
-Placement in the Dominology Order of Merit, our national leaderboard honoring the best players in the game

Dominology education is based on the following standards

• CCSS-M: Common Core State Standards — Mathematics (content codes by grade band)

• SMP: Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMP1–SMP8)

• CTE Anchor Standards (CA): Anchor 1–11 (academics, communication, career planning, technology, problem-solving, health/safety, responsibility/flexibility, ethics/legal, leadership/teamwork, technical knowledge, demonstration/application)

• ISTE Student Standards: 1 Empowered Learner; 2 Digital Citizen; 3 Knowledge Constructor; 4 Innovative Designer; 5 Computational Thinker; 6 Creative Communicator; 7 Global Collaborator

• CASEL SEL Competencies (SEL): Self-Awareness; Self-Management; Social Awareness; Relationship Skills; Responsible Decision-Making
